Hey guys,
Today, the 20th of January, i witnessed history being made. The long toils of African Americans, sufferings and long hurdles, have brought them triumph today. Now the world has seen and behold! A man's skin color holds no boundary to his or her abilities in the political world. Barack Obama, the first African American president of the United States of America. As i watched his inauguration today, i can't help but sensing a sense of pride i had in him. He is the president that i know will bring change to America and the world. Teachers were crying around me, and i knew for sure that America had chosen the right president. What best was that today, the 20th, is also president Abe Lincoln's birthday, and the day after Martin Luther King day. such a significant day, to put another mark down in history. i love how God plans every thing to perfection, covering the slightest detail, the very core and heart of the campaign, designed according to his will.
Although i am not American, i am indeed proud to be in this country, to celebrate with the people a peace that is going to sweep that planet. We all anticipate the promises of Obama, to end terrorism and bring peace to the homeland. President John F. Kennedy said on the day of his inauguration: " Ask not what the country can do for you, but what YOU can do for the country" All of us have a part to play in this world, even then...Obama is still human after all. He is just like every one of us. He has the same potential as us, what makes him different? He chooses to work hard for success rather than wait for it to come to him. What can YOU do to make a difference?
Dear God,
Help each and every single one of us to understand one another. Understand each other's needs, and meeting that need. Father, thank you for inspiring us today. Even to you, this is the beginning of something greater in store. We look forward to what you can do for this nation and to the world. In the midst of trouble, you will be there. Amen.
It seems we are far away, but i am closer to you than you think. Security, even when i am not there.
p.s. - I love you
